The morning sun rose, its pale light growing stronger and brighter as time passed and morning came.
~~~~~
It was now thirty-past-nine in the morning and Lapis ran to his friend, Celene's, house with the sun laughing at him. He skidded to a halt in front of the door. Then he panicked. "Ahh, I forgot to give Morana-dono directions to Celene-chan's home!" he wailed. "I also accidently slept in!"
"Oh, be quiet out there, I'm trying to sleep!" growled a grouchy female voice from inside the house. "Wait, I know that voice . . ."
Foot steps were approaching the door and it swung open and a girl lept out and tackled him. "It's been so long since you last visited me!" pouted the witch as she hugged him.
"It is good to see you too, Celene-chan," he said. "I'm supposed to meet someone here, but I forgot to give them directions . . . I wanted to introduce you two."
Morana stepped out from under the shade of the trees near by, her hood drawn over her face. "Its okay Lapis-san. I found here well enough."
"Lapis, who is this?" Celene asked.
"Allow me to introduce you both," said Lapis Lazuli. "Celene, this is Morana-dono. Morana-dono, this is Celene."
"Nice to meet you Celene." The vampire bowed slightly. "Now can we get inside... This sun is killing me."
"Let's go in then," Celene said, smiling. "You know, I've always wanted to talk to a vampire, it's just that I never bumped into one before."
Morana smiled. "You should come out near the outskirts more often then... Then you'll meet a few." She stepped into the house quickly before pulling her hood down. "Thank god.."
The inside of Celene's house was quite dark, it was lit with only a few dim, floating, silver flames called "witch fire".
"I hope it is not too dark in here for you two," said Celene. "I like it dark in here, so I dismantled all of the oil lamps it came with."
"It's alright for me because I can adjust easily," said Lapis.
"Yup, the witch fire took me awhile to set up, but it was worth it," Celene nodded proudly at her work. "Too much sunlight or bright light makes me sick."
"It just turns me to.... well... dust." She said talking her cloak off, the jingling of knifes sounding as he took it off. "I keep them on me just in case..." She muttered.
"That's smart, really, it is. You never know when you may need them," said Celene cheerfully. "I carry potions and magical tomes around all the time -- oops!" She had dropped a test tube.
A test tube with puke colored contents exploded as it hit the ground.
Celene coughed and said as the smoke cleared, "*cough* Yeah, that's still in an experimental stage. *cough* Sorry 'bout that."
Morana let out a small cough and smiled. "Its okay. I've been though worse." She said smiling.
Lapis's hair had been turned to a hideous shade of green.
"Celene-chan, please turn my hair back to it's natural color," Lapis sighed.
"Um, sorry to break it to you, but," Celene looked a tad guilty. "I have no idea how to restore your hair."
"Um, it's tea time, why don't you both take a seat around the table? I'll be right back with some of my extra yummy rose tea and snacks," Celene dashed into the kitchen before Lapis could say anything.
He slumped in his chair and groaned. "The manager's not going to be too happy about this . . ."
