The search party consisting of the more officially recognized citizens of Aquaria had already made their way deep into the heart of the forest before a group of mere civilians a while behind them decided to stop and talk with Masamune. They held primitive weapons, knives, bows, torches, but yet were very much determined to their task. "Sir, would you like to come along with us? We can use all the help we can get, to be quite honest. The word on the street is that one of these vampires is actually quite strong. Even enough to kill most of us by himself." Awaiting an answer, they all stood as the former pack of revengeful humans were nearing Seras and Hiro more and more.
Hiro drug Seras along at a very fast past, wanting to keep their distance from the distant yells of hatred. He felt absolutely terrible inside for getting her involved in all of it, having to be on the run all the time. It tore him up inside, as Seras tripped on a tree root and tumbled to the ground. Hiro stopped instantly to help her up, licking a droplet of blood from a scrape on her pretty face. It pained him to look at his lover in her condition, sweaty and exhausted from hours of running. "Seras, can you walk? We have to hurry." Hiro said, trying to catch his breath. She sat on the cold ground, crying in dissapointment and fear for herself. "My legs... they won't move..." Hiro picked her up, cradling her gently in his arms as he again began to move as quickly away from the distant humans as possible. He smiled down at his beloved Seras as she drifted off into a faint sleep. "Don't you worry... my beautiful Seras... I will protect you always..." Hiro wispered softly.

Masamune had accepted the human's offer to let him travel with them. He had decided he'd use them to find Seras and then dispatch them in one big wave of hellfire. It took a long time but eventually they caught up with Hiro and Seras since Hiro had been forced to carry her, slowing their speed. When he saw Seras Masamune smiled. "Seras! Hiro!" Masamune called with a grin on his face, though it was one full of hatred. "Watch Seras! This is all to help you two!" With that said he turned around, flames spreading out around him, his skin red, his eyepatch burning off showing his demonic eye. "All for you." he repeated before the wave of deadly heat and fire spread out quickly outward from around him, passing through Hiro and Seras without even singing their clothes though the fire was indeed real enough. the humans however, they weren't so lucky as to have been in Masamune's good graces. He'd used them til they were of no more use to him and then disposed of them all, something demons tended to do.

Awakaened from her beautiful sleep, the vampire gazed upon a scene of absolute hell. Men all around were reduced to nothing more than retched, burning corpses. Even for a poor, abused little girl who grew up being hated by the humans themselves, this was simply too much. Still in Hiro's arms, she burried her face in his chest and wept. "Oh god... please... no... make it stop... don't..." She muttered inbetween sobs. Despite all the pain they had brought her, with her love for it she simply wasn't in the position to actually enjoy all the gore. The smell of burning flesh filled the air, as Hiro's nose twiched in disgust. For a man whom had slaughtered another to the point where it couldn't even be distinguished as nothing more than a pile of blood and flesh, the grim scene before him was almost disturbing. He looked down at his Seras, still quivering in sheer fright and pity for the humans who had perished, then gave an utmost cold stare of resentment towards Masamune. Hiro held his Seras tighter, then simply turned and headed off in a hurry, still worried about more of them after their life. He knew at this point, they would not stop until they were satisfied with the death of them two. How he hated to think of bringing his beloved Seras into all of this, and that their demise was now inevitable, Hiro smiled as at least they were together.

"I see.... So Seras those feeling you said you had for me... Were nothing afterall... I'm sorry that I couldn't make you happy... Sorry that I couldn't return your love... Wish I could have told you I loved you... I'll kill anyone coming after you though... It's the least I could do after you made me happy for those few days..." Masamune said sadly as he began to walk away. "Don't sadden her Hiro... Don't let her stay sad... I'll kill you.... Ohh I'll so happily kill you, burn you to a cinder if she becomes to sad..." With that masamune began to walk away towards the other group of humans that he could hear. At least he'd told Seras what he felt for her, that's all that mattered to him.

Unbeknownst to Masamune, Seras ironically hand't caught a single word of his monologue, despite it being directed to either her or no one in particular. She remained in Hiro's arms, quivering ever still in fear. The thought of more humans losing their lives, all of which to be blamed upon them tore at her heart painfully. Hiro noticed her anguish and stopped for a breif moment, catching his breath before he spoke quietly. "Seras... there there.... everything will be alright... there's no need to cry now... please... Im sorry..." Hiro stood, his lover in his arms, as the thoughts of the hardships ahead bore into his mind. How it would be most terrible to live through. Seras hugged him tightly. The two remained affixed, before Hiro sadly broke to grasp and solemnly drew his pistol from his coat. "Seras... if you would so like... we could be together... without the humans... forever to love nothing but each other in happiness." He said, about to cry himself. Seras looked up at him with large, beautiful crimson eyes, the very ones he had long since fallen so much in love with. "No... please Hiro... im fine with this... how things will be... anything is worth living through... no matter how terrible it is... if im with you." At her words Hiro simply could not hold himself back any longer, and tears fell from his bright eyes. They held each other, the moon shining bright up above. Moments later, they were once again off into the deepest portions of the forest, fleeing for their lives. After the screaming of dying men faded away into the far distance, they finally decided to stop for a rest. Hiro gauged his surroundings, a look of saddness melting away to one of a happy grin as he came to gaze upon Seras' beauty. Despite being brutally abused, raped, and wounded many times in her life, it was all barely recognizable now and she was still the most beautiful and precious thing to him, no matter what. Constantly trying to hide away his initial tiredness from his girl, Hiro accidentally dozed off. Seras watched him lovingly, caring for his health. She knew whenever she had slept, he never so much as closed his eyes for more than a seconds time, always watching over her. It had to have been at least a week before he would have last slept at all. It saddened her. Even a vampire would need his sleep, at least during the day. Furthermore, she had feasted upon his blood on a regular basis, nearly depleting his last sources of energy within him. And he had not drank from her neck in the longest of times, making for a absolutely hideous time for him. Even so, not once had he complained of his misfortune, as he had always blinded himself with love into seeing it as something to enjoy. Seras now knew the extent of his love for her, and marveled that perhaps it was even moreso than hers. A few minutes had passed, until Hiro finally awoke from his sleep and cursed himself for doing so. Looking about, he knew their time for the night would soon end as the sun was about to rise for the morning. "Seras... we... we have to get out of here... the sun will come up soon..." He wispered weakly, before passing out. The cute vampire looked about frantically, before spotting the remains of a little stone building in the distance. Dragging her lover with her sadly, She found the rock foundation to have a cellar still intact and they both sought shelter in it for the day.

There was only one reason the screams had stopped were because Masamune was pegged to a tree, a spear stabbed through his chest. The weilder of the spear had become little more than ashes now and Masamune was pinned. He couldn't move, no matter how much he'd wanted to. Masamune wasn't even certain that he'd live if he did move. He had stayed there, held up by his strong legs all day until it had become night again. He couldn't help it anymore and he let out a large, demonic howl of pain, hoping someone would hear him, hoping end would come so he could die or be freed from the spear to kill more of Seras' enemies.

Seras heard the vivid scream within the night, recognizing it immediately. "Masamune..." She wispered to herself, still watching over her lover as he slept. Soon after, however, he awoke abruptly after being drug to a new location. he glanced about at the interior of the cellar they were now in, feeling a bit odd to be hiding after nightfall. How he longed so much to able to roam freely once again, and how he despised himself for ruining it all for the both of them. He too had heard the scream minutes before, being somewhat awake at the time. "Your friend... perhaps he is in trouble?" he questioned, staring at his Seras with a smile. "Can... can we-" Hiro cut her off sharply, pressing a finger softly to her lips. He spoke in quiet voice, loving her very much. "Shh... its alright. We will go to him... don't you worry..." With that said, the two wandered out of there hiding, taking a good look to be sure of its location for thier return. Running swiftly, they made it back to the horrendous scene, with plenty of the night still before them. The smell of buring flesh continued to plague to air around them, as Masamune remained pinned to a tree. As she finally noticed him through tear-filled eyes, Seras shuddered and turned away quickly, burrying her face in Hiro's chest. They stood in front of the dying mad now, unsure if he woudl even make it. Hiro pulled the spear from his body slowly, allowing for him to fall to the ground after a long stand. "You did good Masamune... now just rest..." He wispered to the man, bandaging his wounds so as he wouldn't sadden his beloved Seras with a death. After a few minutes of a solemn silence, Hiro complied to his girl's wishes and they were off once again. He held her gently in his arms, as they fled the tragic, battlescared scene. An hour or so later, the two were safely in hiding again, waiting for the next full night before traveling. Seras still slep dearly, cuddled in Hiro's lap like a mere child. She looked so very cute to him right then, as he leaned in to feast upon her neck. Moments before puncturing her delecate skin for the taste of a most beautiful blood, Hiro stopped himself reluctantly. Seras awoke gently, staring up into his pretty face. Sh etouched a hand to his cheek. "Go ahead Sir... its alright... take as much as you want..." She wore a most beloved smile, that which nearly convinced him to heed her words. Instantly, he felt ever so regretful and a tear formed in his eye. Hiro dropped his head in shame. "No... I wont ... I... Im so sorry... my Seras... I love you too much..." She cried at his words, wanting so desperately for him to feed himself with her. Somewhat hoplessly aggravated by love, she simply bit into her lover's neck, as he ran a hand up her shirt. While caressing her beautiful body, Seras quivered in delight while drinking his most desireably blood. It filled her body with such an immense feeling of love and belonging, coupled with his hand over her breast creating an orgasm. Seras moaned with pleasure, as Hiro faded from consious while she fell asleep upon him.

Masamune layed there on his side now, completely silent. He was still bleeding badly and his eyes looked glazed over. "I'm sorry seras..." He muttered to himself. "I... wanted to talk to you so badly... If... Only I could have spoke when you released me...." He was taking deep breaths, fighting to stay alive. "I'm so sorry... Seras... But.. Maybe it is better... You don't know my feelings... For you..." He was so tired, the blood flowing out from his wound at a steady pace. Now he was the one in Seras' shoes and if noone found him, he would be the one to die.

Hiro awoke several hours later, the sun long since high in the morning sky. The shelter they sought proved wonderful as nothing but a miniscule ray of light shown into the darkened depths of the cellar through a crack in the wooden door. Looking about the room, Hiro was mortified to find his Seras not with him. Seeing as she had even taken his coat with her, a deep saddness overcame him as a tear dropped from his eye. "So... its true isn't it... Seras? After everything... it seems... you prefer that Masamune afterall..." Hiro muttered, a slight hint of anger in his tone. Never once had he been truely upset with his lover, and even now a sense of uselessness destroyed his hatred for the opposing man. Reaching aside for his pistol, Hiro loaded one cartridge into it, and put the barrel under his chin. "Seras... it seems I wasn't good enough for you afterall..." A deep silence filled the cellar. "Im sorry..." But before he could pull the trigger, Hiro dropped his pistol and simply sat in grief. No matter how ruined he felt, an undying love for his Seras kept him alive.
Enduring the immense pain, a simple thought of how worse it would be for her Hiro kept Seras alive through it all. Despite wearing her lover's trenchcoat, the midday heat still pained her greatly. She stayed in the shadows of trees, momentarily smothering the burns with a soothing sensation, only then to be destroyed by her continuing venture. After nearly an hour in the sunlight, with the majority of her strength giving way to her death, she went onwards until finally coming to where she had left him. Masamune remained lying on his side, a pool of blood slowly growing around him. It was a disgusting sight to behold, but the friendship she shared with him allowed her to handle it. Many times he had saved her from the clutches of death, and now, out of a sense of duty, she was to repay the favor. Slowly approaching the still figure, Seras took out a few bandages and various items to treat his extensive wounds. She knelt by him, tears in her eyes. "You did this... all for me... thank you, Masamune..." a slight wispered thought escaped her lips as she closed his wound. After bandaging it tightly to stop the bleeding, the vampire dawned a smile of releif as the deep gash in his chest had finally stopped pouring blood out of her friend. Seras kissed him gently on the cheek. "Goodbye... Masamune-sama" She said sadly, walking away slowly from his unconcious body, gazing back on occaision. On her return, Seras was greeted with a most estranged stench that plagued the air within the forest. The sun was high in the sky now, as she increased her pace to deal with her pain. Then suddenly, as the vampire had realized what the odor was, Seras's heart plummeted. Just up the path before her, there was her lover Hiro! Faint burning flames of wrath encompased his body as he made his way towards his Seras without even a single scream of pain. There was a tragic limp in his steps as he leaned against nearby trees for support. As he neared his lover, Seras was saddened by the scene. Her leaving had caused him so much grief as he would still die for her. She was frozen in utter fear, gazing upon her Hiro making his way towards her engulfed in the flames of hell. Burning bright upon him, it was the most excruciating pain a vampire could possibly endure.

It was mere moments after she left that Masamune's eyes opened. He coughed a little and stared weakly up at the sky. How am I still alive? He thought sadly to himself, wondering why he had to endur this pain. Clueless of his bandages for those few moments he brought his hand up to his chest and stopped, feeling the material wrapped around him, it was only then that through the blood he could smell her scent lingering on the bandages. "Seras... My... Sweet Seras...." He said said quietly before letting his head lay back down. He didn't care that he was in a pool of his own blood, but Seras had come and saved his life. That mattered more to him than almost anything in the world.

Seras remained affized in her stance, frozen with an utmost fear engulfing her body. Neither her dying lover nor the horrific scene appeared to phase her in the least as she continued to watch expressionless. Hiro made his way painstakingly towards his most beloved Seras, only then to collapse from the pain a mere few feet from her heavenly beauty. The sight of her eased his equisite pains, ever still proving to be simply lacking. Falling to the ground, Hiro would mustered what strength remained within him and began to crawl his way to her. Seras stood coldy, failing to so much as acknowledge his motivative love. He began to reach for her, his grasp wretched and dying, soon falling to the ground with a soft thud. The flames bured brighter upon him, destroying his rotting flesh all the more. Suddenly, a tear broke free of Seras, acompanied by a disgusting scream that echoed throughout the morning forest. Hiro tried once again to crawl over to his love, failing miserably as the lack of any strength ran through his dying self. Despite the burning flames, Seras embraced her lover with the strength and devotion only evident between two vampires with such hardships in the times.
Seras sat within the cold confines of their cellar, exhausted and equally as burned from the daylight exposure. She gazed down upon Hiro's paled face through saddened eyes. It had been hours since she had drug her lover to their shelter, as the poor girl glanced down at her worn hands. The flames still burning bright on their arrival, the vampire had burried her Hiro from his neck down in cold dirt to ease the pain, using nothing to dig but her bare, delecate hands. Hiro had long since lost conciousness to the pain, his body terribly scarred from burns with the majority of his blood either evaporated or boiled and bursting through their veins. His skin had lost many layers to the sun's rays and in various places his bones were exposed underneath the rotten flesh. He was in a most horrific condition, with Seras remaining at his side, always.

Masamune stumbled across the cellar having followed her scent, he opened the doors and walked in, no light going past his massive frame as he walked down, the doors closing behind him. "Seras?" He asked as he walked down to the bottom and smiled when he found her, not caring that Hiro was there as well. He sat down at the corner of the room away from the two of them. "God... I feel like hell... Something tells me that he's... gone through worse though..." He said nodding towards Hiro. "Is he... even alive?"

Overwhelmed with grief, Seras sat cuddled with herself in a dark, cold corner of the cellar. She had been staring at her dying lover ever since upon their return, and even after Masamune made his appearance she still didn't shift her glance. As he asked her his question, the poor girl's heart plummeted further that its previously destoryed state. Tears began to flow from her eyes profusely as she burried her face in her delecatly worn hands. "I... I don't know anymore..." She muttered through sobs in a terribly shaken voice. "But Sir... Masamune..." Seras continued, finding it rather difficult to do so. "I.. I found this here..." the little vampire slid Hiro's pistol across the ground to him, it being filled with only a single round. "He... he meant to use it... on himself...Masamune... when i left to find you, it must have hurt him so much... but then he... then he..."Seras was so very broken up with being the reason her Hiro had left their darkened shelter in midday. Now, he lay before her burned nearly to death simply to get to his lover. Hiro's breathing was minute since they returned, but as he began to cough up blood and awake, Seras cowered. She cried harder now, wispering in a desperate voice. "Please, Hiro sir... Im sorry... please... don't hurt me..." The words escaped her lips effortlessly, only to cause more pain as they touched her ears. In all her poor life, her Hiro had been the one man to truely love and and protect her always from the pain, never instilling fear. But now, her views were so blinded by saddness she believed perhaps he may have it in himself to go so far as harm her, something he would rather die than do. Scared of herself and her lover, Seras remained alone in the corner, cowering in fright with tear filled crimson eyes. "Im sorry..." she wispered.

Masamune slowly walked over to her and sat down beside her, wrapping a strong around Seras' shoulders and looking at Hiro's face. "He'll survive... but if he tries to hurt you I'll have to hurt him back Seras... I'll never let anyone hurt you.. never again... I just wish you'd actually stay with me so I could protect you... Hiro's a lucky guy to have your love... Just wish I could have it as well... If he destroys your love and tries to hurt you though...." Masamune's voice trailed to nothingness as the thought of him burning an abusive man to a crisp ran through his mind.

Hiro had been awake for a few minute now, the pain however keeping him from opening his eyes. His breathing was still as shallow as ever, only noticeably different to his dazed lover when it all but stopped. Seras was horrified to find her lover awake, as crimson tears of his blood streaked his cheeks. All the two had previously said before, Hiro had caught it plain as day as it destroyed his heart. The greatest feeling of self hatred overcame him, only soon to wither into one of pathetic longing. He had reached for his pistol, it lying on the dirt floor merely a few inches from his grasp, yet he could not muster the strength to go the extra distance. He wanted to with all his heart, but his body all but gave out as he let out a soft yell of pain and his arm tore nearly off from the rotting flesh decaying rapidly. Even his bones were now rather brittle and unsupportive. Hiro lay there, so utterly defeated he could not even grant himself death. Seras watched in horror as her lover wished for his death, even in the presence of the one other person he had loved more than anything. They could be together now, and yet he wanted to die right then and let her be with Masamune. The poor little vampire girl continued to cry harder now, as her beloved Hiro lost conciousness, perhaps for the last time.
